The twenties in America were a time of change. Social changes were present in music, dance, clothing, innovations and attitude. At this time there was a radio in almost every house which lead to the easy availability of jazz music.The jazz music was much more exciting than the classical music everyone was use to and lead to more fast pace dances such as the The Charleston. Another result of this music was the outfits worn, such as the outfits worn by flapper girls. This dresses and dances were much more scandalous and like most social changes, were initially frowned upon by many. Alcohol was also banned during this time but canadians didn't listen to it and began rum running across the boarder and this created mobs and gangs. For leisure many people would just go for drives or go to silent films in movie palaces and watch famous actors such as Charlie Chaplin. Sports were also quite popular in the twenties. Baseball was an important sport and players like Babe Ruth are still remembered till this day. Still popular today, college football actually started in the twenties.
