Hungary had an uprising to try and remove communism from the country, the Hungarian leader Imre Nagy tried to pull out of Warsaw Pact, but Stalin however had to keep satellite states for support. The Soviets entered Budapest killing thousands of hungarians with tanks and armed forces. The Soviets elected a new leader Janos Kadar, who agreed to follow the Soviets.
